Handmade BagsI use a variety of cotton fabrics, ranging in weight from quilting cotton to canvas. Most totes have two to three coordinating fabrics, although I sometimes use more if I get carried away. Most of my tote bags are over sized, roughly 20" wide or more. This gives you plenty of room for books, a change of clothes, or whatever you need to carry. The 5/8" seams and sturdy stitching make sure that the bags can handle any extra weight. I've used them for years and crammed more than I should in them, so I know they can handle it. I also make smaller totes about 12" wide, in case you are not a huge pack rat like I am.
Most tote bags are lined with coordinating fabric for a finished look inside. This also means they have the capability to be reversible. Some also feature coordinating pockets for your keys, cell phone, etc. The smaller totes are generally unlined, but have finished seams to prevent fraying edges. My totes have durable straps, many with metal accents. The straps are handmade by me and are four layers thick to hold their shape and give you some padding at the shoulder. The straps all have reinforced stitching where they connect to the tote to make sure they don't pull out. Strap lengths will vary. Handmade WalletsMy wallets measure 4" wide by 3½" tall and have a 2" flap. Each features two pockets. The flap folds over and can be tucked into the lower pocket to keep your belongings in place. Because of the small size and slim profile, these little wallets are ideal for taking a few things out with you on a busy night. The larger pocket is large enough to accommodate your driver's license, a few credit cards, or several bills. The smaller pocket is large enough for cards, as well. All wallets are made of cotton fabric, so they are fairly durable and easy to maintain. Each one has coordinating lining on the inside. The tops of the smaller pocket feature hand stitching for a handmade and one of a kind quality.
